Appols to the few of you who turn up to read this blog for the lack of posting recently. With no internet at home I have to squeeze blogging in aroudn work, or afterward, and when the whistle blows here at the BBC coal face I’m normally running for the door.
So, here in a nut shell are something that I’ve been doing recently.
1. Were Dante andBlake alive today, they could do worse than pic Ikea as an example of Heaven (the show room), the earth (the market place) and hell (the warehouse).
2. Last thursday I was invited for the second year to be a portfolio judge at the British Journal of Photography Vision 2004 conference. Students these days all have monogrammed leather portfolio and all want to do fashion photography (girls) or travel photography (boys). most guys had India in their portfolio. Rugged old mans face, children playing in the Ganges. So bloody colonial, no one wnats that anymore, let alone pay for it. Most people had teh D70 ovver the 300D camera wise. Meet lots of other interesting photographers and generally lamented that the cost of photography these days means that it’s rich kids who are doing it and the gene pool is very shallow.
